Welcome to the Wickium Blog

Welcome to the Wickium blog.

If you've already poked around the platform — the marketplace, the forum, the side-by-side compare tables — you've seen the pattern: we treat trading software like a serious category, not a content marketing playground. This blog is the long-form version of that idea.

What lives here

A short, honest list:

  • Field tests. When we run a prop firm challenge, we publish what happened. Pass or fail, fast or slow. Screenshots, fills, the moment we tilted.
  • Tool deep-dives. When a charting platform or indicator changes, we open it up. Not a press-release summary — what changed in the workflow, what broke, what got better.
  • Comparisons that aren't lying to you. We will tell you which platform we'd pick if we couldn't pick the one that pays us. We will also tell you when the affiliate one is, in fact, the right answer.
  • Behind the scenes. What we're shipping on Wickium, why we made the architectural calls we did, the bugs that made us look bad.

We disclose affiliate links. We publish posts under real human bylines.
AI is a research tool, never a ghostwriter. If a post is sponsored, it
wears a Sponsored badge, and the editorial team didn't write it under
our standards — the sponsor did. You'll know the difference at a glance.

What this blog won't do

We won't run AI-generated SEO sludge. We won't publish a post just because a vendor wanted us to. We won't pretend a tool is good when we'd hand it back. The bar is "would I send this to a friend who trades for a living" — and if that answer is no, the post doesn't ship.

A note on the schedule

We'd rather publish one good post a week than five mediocre ones. Subscribe to the blog (it's free) and we'll land in your feed when something is worth reading. Heads up: the Subscribe button on each blog page is sticky — you don't need to give us an email address, the in-app feed handles it.

A peek at what's coming

A few things on the production board:

  1. Prop firm field test: a real Apex challenge. Same account size, same rules, week-by-week.
  2. NinjaTrader 8 → NinjaTrader X migration. What broke, what's better, what's still a regression.
  3. The "actually paid" data feed shootout. Rithmic vs CQG vs dxFeed vs Databento — same machine, same week, same instrument set.

Want to write here? If you trade for a living, run a vendor, or have a contrarian take that holds up to scrutiny, apply to write. Approved authors get their own blog on Wickium, a banner, a circle avatar, and the same publishing tools the staff uses.

One more thing

Reading-progress bar at the top of the page. Subscribe button at the top of every blog. Cmd-K search. Subscriptions tab on /blog. They're not novel features — they're just what a blog should be in 2026. The reason they exist on day one is because this isn't a side project. It's the front door to what we're building.

Thanks for being early.
