Do prop firms actually pay out?+
The established firms do, with verifiable records — Topstep reports $1.4B+ paid to funded traders, FTMO $500M+, and FundingPips $200M+. Newer firms are far less proven, so weigh payout track record heavily before buying a challenge.
What is the best prop firm?+
It depends what you trade. For futures, Apex Trader Funding, Topstep and Tradeify lead; for forex and CFDs, FTMO, FundingPips and FundedNext. Our ranking weights verified payouts, profit split, payout speed and Trustpilot reputation — not affiliate status.
How do prop firm challenges work?+
You pay a one-time fee for an evaluation, hit a profit target without breaking the daily-loss and max-drawdown rules, then receive a funded account and keep a share of the profits (the profit split).
What is a good profit split?+
80–90% is the industry standard. The most generous firms pay up to 100% on your first block of profit — for example Apex pays 100% of the first $25K, then 90%.
Which prop firm has the fastest payouts?+
A few offer same-day or on-demand withdrawals — Tradeify guarantees payouts within 60 minutes and AquaFunded pays on demand. Most firms pay weekly or bi-weekly.
Are prop firms worth it?+
They let you trade far larger size than your own account without risking your own capital beyond the evaluation fee — but the rules are strict and most traders fail the eval. They reward discipline and punish overtrading.
