Market Stats FAQ
What are day trading statistics?+
Day trading statistics are empirical probabilities computed from historical session data — how often a market breaks its Initial Balance, fills the overnight gap, or closes as a trend versus a range day. They tell you what is normal for an instrument so you can size and target trades against real base rates instead of guesswork.
What is the Initial Balance in trading?+
The Initial Balance (IB) is the price range of the first hour of the regular session. Wickium tracks how often price breaks above or below the IB and how far it extends — a core read on whether a market is likely to trend or stay rotational that day.
What is a “day type” and why does it matter?+
A day type classifies a session by its shape — trend day, range/rotational day, double-distribution day, and so on. Knowing the historical distribution of day types for an instrument tells you how often a big directional move actually happens versus a chop day, so you can plan accordingly.
How is gap-fill probability calculated?+
We measure every session’s open against the prior close, then count how often the resulting gap fully retraces (“fills”) within the day. The percentage is a straight empirical frequency over the listed window — no model, just what actually happened.
Where does the market data come from?+
Crypto from Binance, forex from Dukascopy, and futures/stocks daily-tier from public feeds. Intraday futures data graduates to the full historical tier as the paid feed comes online. Everything is refreshed nightly after the close.
Are these predictions or trading signals?+
Neither. Wickium’s market stats are historical probabilities — sample-size-backed frequencies of what markets have done, not forecasts of what they will do. There are no models, no scores, and no signals. Not financial advice; trading involves risk of loss.

Stats, not predictions
Every probability is a sample-size-backed empirical frequency over the listed window — no models, no scoring engines, no confidence theater. The edge comes from knowing what's normal.
